Film Opening - Blog Post #19

Some More Updates!

Hello! I have some exciting updates in terms of what we have gotten done these last couple days. Since the film opening is done being line edited and Sabrina had some extra time, she was able to play with the color grading and find a look that we all liked. Here are some of the before and after pictures she sent in the chat when making suggestions:

Though it does not look like much of a difference, it definitely creates
that gloomy and lifeless feel that we were looking to convey.

Unfortunately, there have been some complications with my mother's health and other events in my personal life that have made it very difficult for me to focus on this project over the weekend, so I have not had the chance to look for other tutorials for the volumetric lighting effect. However, I plan on working on this more throughout spring break, that way my group can move forward in this project and that we can have almost all the editing (if not all the editing) done by the end of break. This will allow us to have an entire week to complete our CCRs, which are a significant part of the AICE portfolio project.

However, that is not the only thing that we have accomplished recently! Like we had planned, Kim (with Logan's help) was able to find some fonts for the title graphic at the end of the film opening. This is a screen shot that they sent on our WhatsApp chat:

We were thinking of using the top font for the ending title graphic and then the bottom font for the credits that will be shown throughout the film opening. We plan on using a different color, but we think that these will work well considering the story, title, and genre of our film opening. We cannot wait to see how it looks when it is edited in! Like I mentioned above, we will continue working on this project throughout the week, so I will post updates as they come. Stay tuned!
